749th Bomb Squadron, Callsign Y, B-17G, Failed to Return - Salvaged - - Euskirchen, 01/10/1945
Plane 44-6088 "Rattlesnake Daddy II". This plane, not to be confused with the one above, was shot down on a mission to Euskirchen. Germany on Jan 10th, 1945. The pilot, Lt Fredrick Gauss, was killed but the rest of the crew parachuted to safety in Belgium.
