Mission NarrativeMission No. 151Date - November 25, 1944 Target - Merseberg, Landed in France This was another mission to Merseberg and the Leuna oil refinery on Nov. 25th. The group flew on course and bombed using PFF. No results could be observed because of the dense cloud cover. Flak was heavy and one plane, s/n 42-31633, was hit and made a crash landing in France. Plane s/n 42-31633, piloted by Lt Jack B. Wescott was hit by flak in the target area. They lost their oxygen system and had to leave the formation and eventually crash landed near the town of Marek, France. The crew were all safe and returned to Glatton. |
