Plane 41-2578, "Big Tin Bird", B-17F was the oldest B-17 to survive the war. It flew on the 8th's first mission to Rouen, France on August 17th, 1944.

Plane s/n 42-106998, "Paper Doll". The plane was lost in the raid to Merseberg on Nov 2nd, 1944. The pilot was Lt Graeme Bow. Five crewmen were killed and four were POW's.

A closeup of the nose of 42-107026, "Hamtramack Mama". This plane crash landed in France on a mission to Bohlen, Germany on Nov 30th, 1944. No one was injured. We flew our ninth mission in this plane.
